Washing and caring for wigs, extensions and hairpieces

Our hair is easy to care for, but following these recommendations will help keep it looking like new for longer.

Shampooing

Wash the hair with shampoo in lukewarm water. Do not rub it, as wet hair is much more prone to tangling.

Drying

Air drying is ideal, but you can also use a hairdryer and a brush for a smoother finish.

IMPORTANT: Washing does not change the style. Curly hair will remain curly after washing unless you straighten it yourself.

Brushing

Use a wide brush with soft tips to avoid breaking the fibres. Do not use a traditional comb. Detangle the ends first, then gradually work through the rest of the hair. Curly hair should only be detangled with your fingers, using a silicone hair serum and detangling spray to make the process easier. (Video: detangling Afro-textured hair) Loose-curl and straight styles should be brushed before and after every wear.

Trimming

Your hairdresser can trim the hair to your preferred length. Of course, you can also do it yourself if you feel confident 🙂

Storage

After use, the best way to store LuxeHair hairpieces is to hang them on a hook or clip hanger. Wigs can also be stored on a wig stand if you have one.

Colouring

We do not recommend dyeing the hair. It does not react well to the chemicals in dyes intended for human hair, so results can be unpredictable and unsatisfactory. Temporary coloured hair spray can be used on our hair.
