Check your hair in natural daylight
For the most accurate shade match, look at your hair next to a window or outdoors in soft, natural daylight. Avoid direct sunlight, which can make your hair look much lighter than it really is.
If you are between two shades
Choose the lighter shade if your ends are lighter, you have prominent highlights or you want a softer, more dimensional effect. Choose the darker shade if your hair is a single colour or you want the extensions to blend as naturally as possible.
For balayage, ombre or highlighted hair

How to take the best photos for shade matching
Do: use natural daylight
Take your photo next to a window or outdoors in soft daylight. This shows your hair colour and undertone most accurately.
Do not: use warm artificial lighting
Yellow bathroom lights, salon lighting and warm light bulbs can make your hair look more golden, orange or darker than it really is.
Do not: take photos in direct sunlight
Direct sunlight can overexpose your hair, making it look much lighter, shinier or warmer than it really is.
